This Boursin style cheese spread tastes almost identical to the original and can be enjoyed anytime, in so many ways, and at a fraction of the cost of the name brand! Try it on a piece of your favorite Éban's Bread toasted golden brown, in a hearty GF pasta dish, on top of a perfectly grilled steak or baked potato, or spread over our crispy Crostini!
Adrienne's Homemade Boursin Cheese Spread
makes about 3/4 lb
Ingredients
1- 8oz Cream Cheese, softened
1- 4oz stick Salted Butter, softened
1/8 tsp dried Thyme
1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
1/4 tsp dried Chives
1/4 tsp dried Oregano
1/4 tsp dried Basil
1/2 tsp dried Dill
1 1/2 tsp dried Parsley
1 1/2 Tbsp grated Parmesan Cheese
1/4 tsp cracked Black Pepper
2 tsp Heavy Cream
Directions
- Whip the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until very smooth.
- Add the softened butter and continue to whip until well incorporated and smooth & creamy.
- Add all the herbs, the Parmesan cheese and pepper and mix slowly to blend well.
- Add heavy cream 1 tsp at a time to desired consistency.
- Store in an airtight container refrigerated until ready to use.
- Can be frozen for several months if you want to have a large batch on hand to defrost for easy, do-ahead entertaining.
