Ok, so maybe Irish Coffee at brunch isn’t considered “Happy Hour”, but it IS 5:00 somewhere! And a little nip of Ireland’s Jameson Whiskey in your cup o’ Joe seems a lovely way to start your St. Paddy’s Day celebration. Here’s the recipe for a warm Java & Whiskey sipper, and as they say in Ireland, “Sláinte!”
1 ½ oz Jameson Irish Whiskey
1-2 T brown sugar
1 c hot, brewed coffee
1-2 T whipped cream (preferably organic heavy cream, whipped to just soft peaks)
Cocoa powder (optional)
Pour whiskey into an 8oz coffee mug, then add brown sugar and hot coffee. Stir to dissolve sugar, then gently add whipped cream to garnish the drink. Add a sprinkle of cocoa powder on top of the whipped cream if you like.
