Quarantine Fatigue

National Happy Hour Day is Nov 12th and we have a lovely cocktail recipe to share that is sure to trampoline you into a festive holiday season. Adrienne and her sister, Laura, took a “Sister’s Trip” to Asheville, NC this past spring and they were serving the aptly named cocktail “Quarantine Fatigue” at the Red Stag Grill, located in the Grand Bohemian Hotel. The Red Stag barkeeps age the cocktail in oak barrels for several weeks, but if you don’t have an old bourbon barrel handy, this cocktail made on the fly as written below, flows just as smoothly as a young buck prancing across a meadow.

Quarantine Fatigue (makes one cocktail)

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Basil Hayden Bourbon
  • 1 oz Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur
  • 1 oz Carpano Antica Sweet Vermouth
  • Luxardo Cherry
  • Orange Rind Twist

Preparation

Pour the first three ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake vigorously until chilled. Strain into an old fashioned glass filled with ice and garnish with a cherry and orange twist. Enjoy while socializing responsibly :)
